This Privacy Policy describes how Cleen (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) handles information when you use the Cleen mobile application on iOS and Android. By using Cleen, you agree to this policy.
Summary
- Your photos and videos are analyzed on your device.
- We do not upload your photo library to our servers.
- Deletion happens only when you confirm it in the app.
- We use Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage statistics (no photos).
1. Information we access
With your permission, Cleen accesses your device’s photo library to scan for categories such as duplicates, blurry photos, screenshots, and large videos, and to delete items you explicitly select.
- Photo library content — processed locally on your device for scanning and deletion. We do not transmit your images or videos to our servers.
- Device storage information — approximate free and total storage space, shown in the app to help you understand cleanup impact.
- App preferences — scan settings and onboarding state stored on your device (e.g. via local storage).
2. Information we collect automatically
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (e.g. screens viewed, feature usage, permission outcomes). This may include:
- Anonymous or pseudonymous identifiers (e.g. installation ID)
- Device type, OS version, app version, and general region (country-level)
- Event names related to app flows (not the content of your photos)
Firebase may process data according to Google’s Firebase Privacy Policy. We do not use analytics to sell your personal information.
3. How we use information
- Provide core features: scan, categorize, and delete media you approve
- Improve reliability, performance, and user experience
- Understand aggregate usage through analytics
- Respond to support requests you send us
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your photo library for advertising profiles.
- We do not access your contacts, microphone, camera, or location for core features.
5. Data retention
Scan results and app settings are stored on your device until you clear them in Settings or uninstall the app. Analytics data is retained by Google Firebase according to their retention settings and our project configuration.
6. Your choices and rights
- Photo access — manage or revoke access in iOS Settings → Cleen → Photos, or Android app permissions.
- Limited library (iOS) — you may grant access to selected photos only; Cleen scans only what you allow.
- Clear scan data — use “Clear Scan Data” in app Settings; this does not delete your photos.
- Analytics — you may limit ad tracking in device settings. Cleen does not use your photos for tracking.
Depending on your region (e.g. EEA, UK, California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. Contact us at netkaktakto@gmail.com.
7. Children’s privacy
Cleen is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
8. Security
We design Cleen so photo analysis stays on your device. We use industry-standard practices for any network communication (HTTPS) related to analytics and support pages.
9. International users
If you use Cleen outside your home country, Firebase and support providers may process data in other countries where they operate, subject to applicable safeguards.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of Cleen after changes means you accept the updated policy.
